The trees can’t hold their summer look anymore in many sections of Michigan. Here’s an update on fall color from leaf spotters across Michigan.
We have a great fix on the Upper Peninsula fall color as of today, October 9. Michelle Lutke posts a lot of great photos and videos of fall colors in the western Upper Peninsula . The images from the far western U.P. show that part of Michigan is past peak with leaves falling off the trees.
Over the eastern half of the U.P., Joel Bissell from MLive told me that area is nearing peak color and rapidly gaining color. You should be able to find great color over the eastern U.P. this weekend. Bissell tells us M-123 from Tahquamenon Falls to near St. Ignace is at peak color right now. 61
