NEW HAVEN, CT. (WFSB) - A new museum exhibit is celebrating New Haven’s self-proclaimed title as the pizza capital and the city’s deep-rooted passion for it.

The New Haven Museum’s latest exhibit, titled “Pronounced Ah-Beetz,” highlights the Elm City’s rich pizza history and its place in the community.

The comprehensive display runs through October 2027, giving visitors two years to explore the city’s beloved culinary tradition.

“New Haven is a pizza capital for a reason,” said Gorman Bechard, co-curator of the exhibit.

The exhibit features an impressive collection of pizza memorabilia, from the original ordering system at Frank Pepe’s to celebrity-signed pizza boxes.

Among the most prized pieces is the oldest known pizza box from 1936, which Bechard calls one of the real holy grails
