NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Peter McKenna has warned rogue pro-Palestine protesters that “appropriate action will be taken” if they defy a Supreme Court ruling.
NSW Supreme Court Justices Stephen Free and Ian Harrison on Thursday ruled in favour of police and against the Palestine Action Group over a planned march to the Sydney Opera House this weekend.
The matter was brought before the Court of Appeal after the group vowed to go ahead with their plans for Sunday, despite objection from police over public safety concerns.
Assistant Commissioner McKenna on Friday morning said police’s warning to protesters considering flocking to the landmark anyway was “simple”.
“Don't do it, don't consider it, don't attend,” he told Sky News Australia.
