DULUTH — “Do we care about people, or do we care about profit?” was the rallying cry of a group of local students, as they made their way through the downtown streets Thursday afternoon as part of a planned walkout protest.
Approximately 30 students from Harbor City International School left their afternoon classes to protest the sale of Minnesota Power, a publicly traded electrical utility company that serves over 150,000 customers across Northeastern Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin.
After walking through the downtown area, armed with signs and a megaphone, students stationed themselves at Minnesota Power Plaza, near the Lake Avenue intersection and the headquarters for Minnesota Power’s parent company, Allete.
