(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- That cooler, refreshing fall air settled in on Thursday, and tonight, it's getting even chillier outside!
Lows Friday morning will likely be the coolest since April for many neighborhoods, falling into the 40s for the Foothills and much of the Piedmont, with mid and upper 30s in the mountains. Friday brings a mix of sun and clouds with highs only around 70 degrees again.
This weekend, the attention turns to a strong low-pressure system expected to move north and up the coast of the Carolinas. It's especially concerning for beach areas, with gale-force winds of 40-50+ mph expected, combined with heavy rain of up to 3-6 inches. Coastal flooding and beach erosion may occur by Sunday. It's a system to take seriously if you have plans or property in those areas!
