PORTLAND, Ore. — It's Community Impact Week for United Way of the Columbia-Willamette (UWCW), and volunteers are out in full force.

At foster care nonprofit Fosterful in Vancouver, volunteers sorted through hundreds of Halloween costume donations ahead of their upcoming costume giveaway.

“By creating ways for community members to volunteer for Fosterful, we are helping community members touch the lives of kids experiencing foster care where they may not have been before,” said Fosterful Executive Director Sarah Desjarlais.

Fosterful is one of dozens of organizations United Way of the Columbia-Willamette’s Hands on Greater Portland volunteers are helping out this week.
