WASHINGTON — Fifteen people were displaced by a fire in Southeast D.C. that also led to the injury of one firefighter on Thursday.
Emergency crews reported the fire on social media around 5:30 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene in the 2900 block of Knox Place, Southeast, the fire was contained on the second floor of the three-floor apartment building.
Initially, officials said eight people and one dog were displaced.
Two hours later, they’d updated that a total of 15 people and three dogs were no longer living in the building.
Officials did not indicate what might have started the fire or how the firefighter was injured. They did say the firefighter needed to be taken to a hospital.
