ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Parents whose children attend DeKalb County schools held nothing back after finding out Superintendent Dr. Devon Horton had been indicted on fraud charges in Illinois.

Some parents called the indictment nothing out of the ordinary.

“Honestly there is so much going on in the district right now, that this is just one of the things that is news today,” said parent Jeannette Fusia.

Court documents show Horton’s charges stem from his time as a school superintendent in a Chicago suburb from 2020 to 2023. Documents accuse Horton of scheming to defraud his former school district of money and property with his alleged friends.
