ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The last fugitive from a Louisiana jailbreak that captivated authorities and the public for months appeared before a Fulton County judge Thursday, just hours after his dramatic capture in southwest Atlanta.

Derrick Groves, 28, waived his right to an extradition hearing during a brief court appearance inside the Fulton County Jail.

“I want to go back to New Orleans,” Groves told the judge when asked about his decision.
