A coastal low is on the way for the weekend. Any outdoor plans will be impacted by wind and rain. If the system doesn’t organize enough, rainfall amounts may underperform.

Rain begins to arrive early Saturday. Coastal areas may already be wet before the sun comes up. Rain will continue to spread northward through the day, occasionally heavy. The dry ground is expected to absorb this quickly, and any runoff will head for ditches and creeks with low water levels. The best chance for any isolated flash flooding issues will be Saturday night if more heavy rain develops.

By Sunday, rain is expected to exit quickly with a few lingering showers possible. Highest rainfall amounts are expected to be around the Sounds and Outer Banks.
