Tropical Storm Jerry is weakening in the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Jerry was initially forecast to strengthen into a hurricane; however, the system is struggling.

Jerry is moving toward the northwest at 17 mph, and a turn toward the north is expected tonight into Saturday.

During the weekend, Jerry is expected to move north-northeastward.

On Friday, Barbuda is expected to receive 4 to 6 inches of rain, while other areas in the Leeward and Virgin Islands are forecast to receive 2 to 4 inches.

Maximum sustained winds: 50 mph

Minimum central pressure: 1007 mb
