HOBOKEN, N.J. (PIX11) – As New Jersey voters are deciding a close race for governor, the Republican nominee announced he is filing a lawsuit against the Democratic nominee over comments made during Tuesday’s debate.

Jack Ciattarelli is suing Mikie Sherrill for defamation after she said, "I think you’re trying to divert from the fact that you killed tens of thousands of people by printing your misinformation, your propaganda, and then getting paid to develop an app so that people could more easily get the opioids once they were addicted."

The back and forth continued, with Ciattarelli lobbing retorts regarding Sherrill’s involvement in a cheating scandal during her time at the United States Military Academy.
