DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) — Derby police say they've arrested a woman accused of assaulting a man and his dog before intentionally running into a police cruiser with her car.

Aliyah Beeman, 31, of Bridgeport was charged with: • Risk of injury to a minor • Four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment • Assault on a police officer • Three counts of criminal attempt to assault a police officer • Interfering with an officer • Reckless driving • Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver license • Disobeying signal of an officer/attempting to elude police

The charges stem from officers responding to the report of an assault in the parking lot of Checkers Food Store & Deli on Elizabeth Street. According to court records, the incident happened on Sept. 27.
