BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M RELLIS hosted the inaugural Rural Resilience Summit on Thursday. The two-day summit is a chance for different agencies and organizations to share the most pressing issues facing rural communities.

“Rural Texas, what- first and foremost- people don’t realize, is where all the food that feeds us every single day, the energy that drives the eighth largest economy in the world, Texas,” said Texas A&M University System Chancellor Glenn Hegar.

According to Co-Director of the Center for Rural Resilience at Tarleton State University Dr. Jean Lonie Dudley, Texas is number one in the nation in rural population.
