MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU Hospitals (WVUH), which includes WVU Medicine’s J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and WVU Medicine Children’s in Morgantown as well as Fairmont Medical Center – is now accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Nurse Externship Program, a nine-week paid opportunity to prepare nursing students for the transition from classroom to clinical practice.

The program, scheduled for June 1 through Aug. 1, 2026, provides nursing students entering their senior year with meaningful, hands-on experiences that strengthen clinical skills and build confidence at the bedside.
