AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Accelerate Augusta held a grand opening for its new center on Friday.

The grand opening started at 11 a.m. at 600 Broad Street.

Task force reaches out to homeless community amid rising deaths

The Homeless Task Force conducted their bi-monthly outreach event Thursday, visiting homeless camps throughout the area.

The new center means more local businesses and new job opportunities .

It’s also coming at a time when Broad Street is under construction with hopes of beautifying downtown Augusta .

David Nuckolls, executive director of Georgia Center of Innovation at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, will be a special guest.
