The OPP Highway Safety Division says two firefighters were sent to hospital early Friday morning after a tractor-trailer crashed into a fire truck around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 401 at Newtonville Rd.
The OPP says the fire truck was on the scene of an earlier collision and was blocking a live lane at the time of the crash.
The firefighters were inside their vehicle at the time of the collision and their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
“It’s another very stark reminder about slow down, move over and sharing the road safely and responsibly,” said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
