The City of Red Deer is having a little fun with the season and the amount of Box Elder bugs, they posted on their social accounts the following information, tips, and tricks for dealing with them.
"It's spooky season, and for all you bug-haters, there's certainly a chilling amount of Box Elder bugs lurking around to terrorize your neighbourhoods.
While they do like to cluster in masses, adding to their spooky aesthetic, rest in peace knowing that the arrival of these black and red insects (Latin name Boisea trivittatus) is short-lived and tied to the dipping temperatures. Adult Box Elder bugs are looking for warm, dry shelter, and they want your house to be their final resting place.
But here's the good news: they're seasonal guests, not eternal spirits, and many will die off or go dor
