WALTHAM, Mass. —

Downed power lines caused several vehicles, including at least one school van, to catch fire in a Waltham, Massachusetts, parking lot on Friday.

The incident occurred in the area of 410 Totten Pond Road.

From a distance and through the smoke, it was clear that at least two vehicles were destroyed by the fire, and at least one other was damaged. Some of the vehicles involved appeared to be school vans.

"A tractor-trailer hit a utility pole, which brought down the wires. We have crews on the way to make the area safe and clear damage as quickly and safely as possible," Eversource spokesperson Kaitlyn Woods said.

Sky 5 could see broken utility poles while flying overhead. The tractor-trailer was also seen in an adjacent parking lot.
