LEXINGTON, Ky. — Former University of Kentucky swim coach Lars Jorgensen has been ruled permanently ineligible to coach by the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
The organization was created by Congress in 2017 to oversee and resolve abuse and misconduct reports involving athletes who compete in Olympic sports.
The USCS disciplinary database cited Jorgensen On Thursday, Oct. 9 for having an intimate relationship, specifically “involving a power ombalance; physical misconduct; retaliation; sexual harassment; sexual misconduct.”
The sanctions aren’t just for swimming, they also cover Jorgensen’s involvment with the U.S. Tennis Association. According to USCS, he will be able to appeal the decision.
