Authorities have released new information in the death of a missing Alabama girl whose remains were found two years ago and positively identified last month.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office on Friday said the remains of Jordan Lashelle Fitzpatrick were found Aug. 18, 2023, in the back of a building in the 2300 block of Poplar Street in Montgomery.

Her body had been burned beyond recognition.

Jordan was living with a family member in Tuskegee in April 2023 when she vanished.

The family filed a missing persons report in Tuskegee, but the disappearance seemingly went cold.

There was no announcement made in 2023 when the remains were discovered, but the case at that time was ruled a homicide, according to a Friday news release from District Attorney Azzie Oliver’s offic
