NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - WSMV 4’s First Alert Weather radar captured the deadly explosion in Hickman County on Friday morning.
Just before 8 a.m., a “massive” explosion was reported at the Accurate Energetic Systems.
As a result, multiple people have died, several were hospitalized and 19 are missing, according to emergency officials.
According to First Alert Meteorologist Stefano DiPietro, our First Alert Weather radar scans the sky so frequently that it actually captured the explosion.
“You can see what that plume of smoke was when that explosion happened,” DiPietro said. “It went so high with such a large explosion that our radar actually picked up on it, and you can see how far that smoke actually traveled once that explosion did happen.”
