Shillong, Oct 10: Agatha Sangma, Chairperson of the Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, expressed deep sorrow over the death of the girl in Ri-Bhoi and the 7-year-old boy from Nongrah, East Khasi Hills, two recent victims of child murders in the state.
She also conveyed her condolences to the grieving families.
Raising concern over the increasing cases of missing children in Meghalaya, the commission said it has already submitted a Model Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to the government for immediate implementation, to ensure quicker action in such situations.
