After two straight defeats on the field, the losses just keep coming for Penn State — this time, off the field. Pine-Richland’s Khalil Taylor, one of the Nittany Lions’ top recruits in the Class of 2027, has decommitted from James Franklin’s program.

The wide receiver is the third-ranked junior in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The four-star recruit was Penn State’s second-highest-ranked commit in the class, behind McKeesport running back Kemon Spell, and had been pledged to the Nittany Lions since March.

Taylor will still consider Penn State moving forward, per L.I.G. Sports Group founder Justin King, who represents the prospect. However, Taylor did not want to stay committed to the Nittany Lions while he explored other options in the recruiting process.
