FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Police said they arrested a New York man who traveled down to Fairfax County to defraud someone of $40,000.
The Fairfax County Police Department said a walk-in report was taken for a fraud case on Sept. 13. The victim said he had been defrauded by someone he didn't know.
According to the victim, the unknown man contacted him, claimed to be a representative at his bank, and convinced him to withdraw money on two separate occasions and hand it over to him.
Detectives identified 37-year-old Kun Ye as the suspect.
Ye was tracked to the 3900 block of Fair Ridge Drive in Fair Oaks and was taken into custody.
He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with felony obtaining money by false pretenses. He was held without bond.
Any
