LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Increased drone activity has led to a larger military presence along the banks of the Rio Grande River.

It’s a sight to see and sounds that are hard to ignore as helicopters flew along the riverbanks near the Gateway to the Americas Bridge, also known as Bridge 1.

According to Zacate Creek Green District Coalition Project Manager, Roque Haynes, “It’s very surprising because we are not used to seeing this kind of concentrated military activity on the border. People were very surprised, but at the same time, we went about our own way and continued to work and just observed.”
