SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - This story has to do with the ‘topping out’ of a project, years in the making.
We’re talking about construction at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
And just hours ago, crews placed its tallest beam on the new patient tower.
Breaking ground in June of 2019, supporters and healthcare officials came out to celebrate arguably the most important part of construction.
The literal top of the structure is now in place.
Our team caught up with the head nurse at Memorial Hospital about how this new tower will help memorial ‘better meet’ the medical needs in the community.
“If you’ve been to us lately then you know that we’ve got a whole lot of patients so a lot of patients in our ER waiting for rooms in our acute care tower. We are really excited to meet the community
