A coastal flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:45 p.m. valid from Sunday noon until Monday 8 p.m. for Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Suffolk County.

The weather service says, "1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline for the for the Sunday afternoon, Sunday Night and Monday afternoon high tide cycles."

The weather service adds, "If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property."
