AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Applications are now open for this year’s Toys for Tots program, the annual tradition that ensures children in the area have presents under the tree.

Last year, the program supported more than 82,000 children, including teenagers up to age 19. The initiative relies on community donations to provide toys for families in need throughout the holiday season.

Keith Phillips, the Toys for Tots coordinator in Richmond County, said this year’s campaign faces a familiar challenge: finding appropriate gifts for older children.
