MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Gunfire erupted Wednesday night in northeast Memphis, seriously injuring a 15-year-old boy, police said.

Memphis Police (MPD) said officers were called to an area near Jackson and Reenie avenues for a shooting. They arrived to find a teenage boy had been shot, police said.

The boy was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

MPD did not immediately have information on possible suspects connected to the shooting.

No other details were released.
