LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A woman has been charged with murder in connection to a shooting in the St. Denis neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police Department was called to the 3200 block of Teakwood Circle on Sept. 7 around 1:21 a.m. about a shooting.

Officers arrived and were met by 33-year-old Aleshia Reed, who took them to the bedroom of her home, where the victim was.

According to police, the victim was shot and died at the scene.

An arrest slip says police observed broken items in the room that led them to believe there was an altercation. It says there was also a shotgun on the floor of the room.

Following an autopsy, officials determined the victim's gunshot wound was not consistent with being self-inflicted.
