PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Art has been a big part of Peoria's efforts to beautify the city and one local non-profit has been a large part of that goal.

Big Picture Peoria is a Peoria-based non-profit focused on bringing a sense of belonging and building a wider net of diversity to the community through art.

At 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, Big Picture Peoria unveiled 16 new large-scale murals to the Warehouse District in Downtown Peoria.

"I think it's amazing that this city, Peoria, Illinois, is embracing the arts to the level that they are. Not only with Big Picture, but they're also putting up on all the utility boxes in Downtown Peoria. They're putting art on them as well," said Big Picture Peoria President Doug Luenig.
