DAVIS, W.Va. (WBOY) — The seat of Tucker County has added a vibrant community with the development of the Davis Riverwalk.

The Riverwalk, developed by Pete Johnson, is built on the site an abandoned rail yard and aims to create a community-oriented space rather than just a retreat.

"I started looking in the valley, but I found all those developments to be pretty conventional," Johnson said. "And here we had these two towns, Thomas and Davis, that are so cool, and I thought, how can we do something that says get to it all?"

The development consists of two phases, with 18 homes either built or under construction. Johnson described the first phase as having six homes, which he refers to as the pioneers, followed by 12 homes in the second phase.
