HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 32-year-old Rocky Hill man who was arrested by Hartford Police detectives in September after an online undercover operation has been charged with harmful communication with a minor.

The Hartford Police Department's Child Exploitation Prevention Unit conducted an undercover operation targeting people trying to exploit children online, according to the department.

During the investigation, detectives posed as a 15-year-old and engaged with 32-year-old Richard Madley of Rocky Hill, who shared sexually explicit content over the course of several weeks and tried to arrange a meeting.

On Sept. 25, detectives took Madley into custody without incident in Rocky Hill.
