SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A Sioux Falls organization that supports human rights is seeing an increase in those wanting to participate.

While the NAACP started in Sioux Falls in the 1920s, it has had its ups and downs in participation. Local leaders are seeing a new surge of interest, with a collective focus on equality.

"Things are a little bit volatile throughout the entire country. The NAACP is a long-existing organization. Our particular chapter has been around for generations," said NAACP Sioux Falls President Niemma Thasing.
