SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) -The old Kroger building in Sulphur hasn’t been used since before the hurricanes, but soon the spot it sits on could see new life.
On Aug. 18, FEMA approved the funding for the City of Sulphur to proceed with the plans to demolish the old Kroger building.
Sulphur Mayor Mike Danahay says this is the start of a new beginning.
“We’re still working on the details,” he said. “You know we’re in contact with of course the city court to make sure that they have their needs are met, as well as what we will need as far as a municipal complex. The whole idea of getting it together under one roof is that it’s a one-stop shop for our citizens here in Sulphur.”
