Days after an explosion blasted manhole covers off the sewer in an otherwise quiet Loudoun County neighborhood, the incident remains a mystery, and residents remain on edge.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a home not far away from the blast that woke up dozens of residents of the Potomac Station neighborhood about 4 a.m. Sunday.

"The house shook, which I have not experienced that before,” Lauren Thompson said. “We all came out — we being all of my neighbors — came outside."
