Friday started off on a soggy note, with morning thunderstorms dropping just under half an inch of rain in Springfield. Some areas north of I-44 picked up closer to an inch.

Thankfully, the wet weather didn’t stick around for long. Skies gradually cleared by the evening, and it looks like we're in for a stretch of drier conditions ahead.

Saturday will begin with some lingering fog and clouds, especially in areas north of I-44 where reduced visibility is likely early on. However, sunshine will return as the day progresses.

Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to low 80s, accompanied by a light breeze out of the north.
