KITTY HAWK, N.C. — 13News Now spoke with leaders from the town of Kitty Hawk ahead of this weekend's expected nor'easter.
They’re telling people who live in the area to expect harsh winds and tidal flooding.
Visible off of the Kitty Hawk Pier were double red flags flying, which means no swimming along the beach.
Kitty Hawk leaders said to expect to see those flags flying up and down the coast, through the weekend and into Monday.
Lauren Garrett, with the town of Kitty Hawk, said, “We do not recommend anyone getting near the water at the beach because this is going to be a long duration of wind defense. It’s going to be very rough seas and it’s going to be really dangerous, so we encourage people to stay away from the beach.”
Garrett said their crews have been monitoring conditions sin
