Interstate 24 crashes result in multiple deaths, investigation in progress

GOREVILLE — A pair of fatal accidents left multiple people dead on Interstate 24 in Johnson County Friday morning.

The Illinois State Police responded to milepost two on I-24 eastbound near Goreville for the report of two separate fatal traffic crashes. The report came at approximately 6 a.m. Friday. It is unclear if the crashes were directly related.
