KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Kansas City-area men are suing Monsanto and Bayer, alleging they developed cancer from using Roundup weed killer.

The lawsuits were filed separately on Thursday, according to court records. Attorneys from Kirkendall Dwyer LLP are representing both men.

The firm's website says it has been part of numerous lawsuits against Monsanto, the original maker of Roundup.

Bayer acquired Monsanto in 2018. As part of the deal, Bayer took over the company's liabilities, including matters related to Roundup.

Lawsuits claim main chemical ingredient of Roundup can cause cancer

One of the lawsuits was filed in Jackson County on behalf of Christopher McClure, who claims he was exposed to chemicals in Roundup from 1983 to 2019. McClure used Roundup weed killer at his residence.
