A woman carjacked a vehicle on the North Side, drove into Downtown, fled when police tried to pull her over, struck two vehicles and then hit the side of a hotel Friday evening before she was arrested, authorities said.

The woman was taken into custody after what Pittsburgh Public Safety described as a “brief struggle” in which Port Authority Police used a Taser on her after she hit the Omni William Penn Hotel at the intersection of Oliver Avenue and William Penn Place.

No injuries were reported, Public Safety said.

The police vehicle’s fender and headlight were damaged, and the other vehicle had minor damage to the front driver’s side, authorities said. Damage to the hotel was minor, with some scuff marks on the exterior.
