The participants of the Over The Edge event in Harrisburg are supporting children in need by rappelling down an 18-story building Friday to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA.

The event began at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m., with more than 60 participants spread out throughout the entire span. Fundraisers rappel down the Market Square Plaza building at 17 North Second Street in the heart of downtown Harrisburg.

“Edgers” each raise a minimum of $1,000 to participate in the event.

The nonprofit’s fundraising goal is $80,000 to support transformative youth mentoring programs across its seven-county service region.
