A Bible college and a health clinic might be coming to Bowman, Mayor Patsy Rhett announced during the town council's monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

She shared a letter from Dr. Sylvia Bruce Stephens and the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, co-founders of the Progressive Gospel Bible College, a federally recognized nonprofit organization.

They asked town off cials to sign a lease allowing the college to use the former school district administrative off ce next door to the town hall. The college would renovate the building and begin operations by holding classes on two evenings each week.

Rhett said town off cials "need to get information from our lawyer" before replying to the request. "Right now, we're going to take this under advisement."
