LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A new neighborhood watch group is working to reduce crime in the Parkland and Park DuValle neighborhoods.
Going door to door in Louisville’s Parkland neighborhood on Friday, Desiree Barker and a team of volunteers say they're working to make the neighborhood safer.
“We have to do something. Why wait for funding? Why wait for officials? Let’s go ahead and do this now,” Barker said.
Barker is part of C3—Community Covenant Connection.
The group’s neighborhood watch, created by Community Outreach Services, aims to reduce crime and unite residents, business owners, city officials, and LMPD across Park DuValle and Parkland. The initiative officially launched this month, equipping community members with strategies to reduce crime and foster community cooperation.
