LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Visual Art, the Kentucky School for the Blind Charitable Foundation, its leaders, and community members unveiled the state’s first public mural designed to be experienced by people of all abilities.
Commissioned and managed by Louisville Visual Art, the 58-foot curved wall features more than 4,000 handmade ceramic tiles that swell into a half-sphere at the center, serving as the focal point of the design. An accompanying audio description and accessible website allow the mural to be experienced by a broader audience.
“This beautiful, inclusive, and accessible work exemplifies all three strategic focus areas for LVA: youth art education, local artist support, and art in public spaces,” said LVA Executive Director Angela Hagan. “It also underscores our focus
