A staggering 2.5 million Brits are now on weight loss jabs as sales of Mounjaro and Wegovy treatments rose sevenfold from the year before in July.

This means that one in 20 people across the UK are using them, despite their limited availability from the NHS , the Telegraph reports.

Life science analytics company Iqvia revealed new data which showed that 2.49 million packs of Mounjaro and Wegovy in July.

This was a whopping increase from 493,000 in July 2024.

The vast majority of the purchases were made privately (nine in 10), with some pharmacies charging up to £389 a month.

220,000 people are expected to receive the jabs via the NHS over the next three years, due to strict rationing.
