Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in the UK, affecting approximately one in eight men during their lifetime, according to Prostate Cancer UK. It represents 14% of all new cancer diagnoses in the UK, with roughly 55,300 new cases reported annually. ‌

Moreover, statistics from Cancer Research UK indicate that there are about 12,200 deaths from prostate cancer in the UK each year, equating to 33 daily. The prostate, a small gland located just below the bladder, can develop cancer when its cells start to grow uncontrollably. ‌

However, immediate treatment may not always be necessary, depending on the severity of the cancer. This will entirely depend on the behaviour and progression of the cancer. ‌
