CJI Gavai was speaking on Saturday at the national conference 'Safeguarding the Girl Child' organised by the Supreme Court's Juvenile Justice Committee and UNICEF India

Chief Justice of India BR Gavai on Saturday said that in today’s digital era, girls are facing unprecedented threats such as online harassment, cyberbullying, digital stalking, misuse of personal data, and deepfake images.

Speaking at the national conference ‘Safeguarding the Girl Child’, organised by the Supreme Court’s Juvenile Justice Committee and UNICEF India, he stated that technology, while offering opportunities, has also become a tool of exploitation rather than empowerment.

CJI Gavai called for special training for police and officials to handle such cases with sensitivity and understanding.
