The Weyburn Police Service received a total of 92 calls for service from September 29 to October 5. A total of 30 charges were laid, three under the Criminal Code of Canada, 26 under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the City of Weyburn Bylaw. Here’s a look at notable events from the week.

On Monday, a complaint came in regarding a tent located in a wooded area within city limits. A campsite had been set up including a homemade fire pit, an appeared to be being used for criminal activity; they were also in violation of the City of Weyburn bylaw regarding illegal fire pits. Police were not able to locate the person responsible for the site, however, the investigation into the matter continues.
